THEO CLINKARD


Theo is a Brighton-based dance artist and costume designer. He has created and performed work by many of the UK’s leading choreographers including Siobhan Davies, Matthew Bourne, Wayne McGregor, Lea Anderson, Rafael Bonachela, New Art Club, Charles Linehan, Kim Brandstrup, Mark Bruce, Ben Wright, Aletta Collins, Fin Walker and Volcano Theatre Co. Together with Antonia Grove, Theo founded PROBE in 2004 and produced two full-length evenings of work, commissioning and dancing duets by numerous artists in addition to performing existing works by Yasmeen Godder and Trisha Brown. Recent design work includes costumes for Scottish Opera, Malmo Opera, Theatre Cryptic, Bgroup, Bonachela Dance Co and Munich Opera House. Collaborations with Laïla Diallo include At-any-moment-something-else, The Wayside, Between the Shingle and the Dune and Out of sight in the direction of my body.

MELANIE DEMERS


Mélanie Demers is a dancer, a choreographer and the artistic Director of Mayday. She first studied dance, literature and theatre in Quebec City, and finished her artistic curriculum in 1996 with a diploma from LADMMI, the School of Contemporary Dance. After eight years at O Vertigo, Mélanie Demers ventured onto the path of creation in 2006. Under Mayday, she worked onto the choreographic project Les Angles Morts.The piece still continues to tour America, Europe and Asia, while Sauver sa Peau (co-authored with choreographer Laïla Diallo) plays on both sides of the Atlantic since its creation in 2008. In 2010, Junkyard/Paradise has been launched during Les Rencontres Chorégraphiques Internationales de Seine-Saint-Denis, in France and will be touring across Canada in 2011.

PHIL KING


Phil King is a Bristol-based singer-songwriter who also frequently composes for dance, theatre, commercial and educational projects. His second solo album, They Come and They Go, was released to critical acclaim in 2009. Phil performed in Mischief, a piece by Theatre Rites and Arthur Pita, touring the UK in autumn 2009, and will embark on the production's international tour in 2010. Recently, Phil composed the score for God’s Garden, a dance performance choreographed by Arthur Pita in which he also performed. He is currently touring the UK with his original material. Collaborations with choreographer Laïla Diallo include Out of sight in the direction of my body, waiting fleeing, Between the Shingle and the Dune, The Wayside, Imprint and At-any-moment-something-else.

SARAH GILMARTIN


Sarah trained at the Royal Academy of Dancing and London Contemporary Dance School before discovering lighting and moving into Lighting Design and Technical Management, first based at The Place Theatre and then touring the UK and internationally. She has lit Theatre, Dance and Opera, recent credits include; Place Prize Finalist Anna Williams ‘Clearing’, A2 ‘About Blindness’, London School of Fashion’s MA Costume Design Show and for Laila Diallo, At-any-moment-something-else and Imprint. Sarah has been fortunate to assist a number of prominent Lighting Designers including Lucy Carter, Andy Philips, Guiseppe Di Iorio, James Whiteside and Bruno Poet and worked with companies and choreographers including Richochet Dance, Retina, Ben Wright, Cholmondeleys & Featherstonehaughs, British Youth Opera, Sheffield Theatre Productions, UCL, GSMD, Opera Group, Buxton Opera, Early Opera Company. Sarah has recently become more involved in dance management working first as General Manager for Woking Dance Festival and currently as Dance Development Officer at Surrey Arts and Production manager for Woking Dance Festival.
